It fights for us, it fights against us. It wages war on our enemies, all the while waging another kind of war against its own citizens. It patrols our borders and protects us against those in the outside world that might mean us harm while taking our money, subtracting amounts from our weekly paychecks that stagger the mind and unbalance the checkbook. It is the embodiment of all that is good in this country; and it is the source and the perpetrator of a great deal of the evil.
What is it? It's your federal government, good ol' Uncle Sam. Love it or hate it, prefer it smaller than a breadbox or supersized, almost everybody has an opinion about the US Government. Like the majority of my fellow Americans, mine are framed and shaped by particular happenings or events that affect me personally.
Is a government "of the people, for the people, and by the people" an impossibly irretrievable dream? Here's your chance to spout off and tell the world what you think of Uncle Sam.
