In the wake of the Indian Ocean tsunami
disaster, many of us have been prompted to consider the suddenness with
which we might find ourselves catapulted into eternity. We give thanks to
God for the opportunity to do so - an opportunity which many of the more
than 150,000 men, women, and children whose lives were ended in that
catastrophe probably didn't even give a thought to when they woke up that
morning.
Having reflected on the matter
personally, I realized that the earthquake and resulting tidal wave in the
Indian Ocean could just as easily have been an oncoming semi-truck or a
single bolt of lightning from out of the sky as far as the people who lost
their lives were concerned. In an instant, they were transported out of
time and into eternity.
I couldn't help thinking about the state
of their souls at that moment, and about what fate awaits them now, in
eternity. This lead me to examine my own conscience, and having done so, I
stand convicted of (among many other sins against God and man) idolatry,
hypocrisy, falseness, and cowardice. I can no longer, with a clear
conscience, remain silent.
*Many of my worst sins remain unconfessed here,
to be sure, but they are better repented of in other ways and in other
places.

The United States of America,
self-proclaimed beacon of freedom and hope to the world, was born of a
spirit of rebellion, and had within it from its founding the seeds of
moral decay from within and vulnerability from without that will, in the
absence of a national act of repentance, soon
bring it to utter defeat.
What I know about the history of my
country, its present condition, and biblical teaching leads me to the
inevitable conclusion that the United States is heading for divine
judgment, defeat, humiliation and destruction.

Our punishment will be that of an
abhorrent nation which creates and defends the "right" of a woman to
murder a human being for the sake of convenience, and even pays for the
child-mutilation/murder. It will be the punishment of a blasphemous nation
which allows self-proclaimed worshippers of Satan to occupy powerful
positions in its government and military. It will be the punishment
of an idolatrous nation which enshrines human rights and unanswerable
liberty as its gods over the One True God. It will be the punishment of an
adulteress nation which corrupts itself and seduces its people by
welcoming and fostering the worship and customs of foreign gods. It will
be swift and terrible. And it will be soon.
